CONJOSÉ, THE 60TH WORLD SCIENCE FICTION CONVENTION
PO Box 61363, Sunnyvale CA 94088-1363 USA
press@conjose.org; http://www.conjose.org/

For immediate release: Tuesday, August 27, 2002, 8:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time

PATRICK STEWART TO APPEAR AT CONJOSÉ

Actor Patrick Stewart (Star Trek's Captain Picard, X-Men's Professor Xavier) will make a special appearance at ConJosé, the 60th World Science Fiction Convention,
on Friday, August 30, 2002, at 7:30 PM in the San José Civic Auditorium in downtown San José, California.

This special appearance is open to full attending and Friday-only members of this year's Worldcon. A full five-day attending membership is $200 at the door, and a Friday-only membership is $70. Membership includes admission to all events, including Stewart's
appearance, subject to seating availability. Due to anticipated heavy demand, there is a limit of 500 single-day memberships available each day. (There is no limit on the number of full 5-day attending memberships.)

This appearance, made possible courtesy of Paramount Pictures, is expected to include previews of X-Men 2, currently in production, and of the next Star Trek movie. Representatives from Paramount are expected to be on hand with promotional material, and possibly with a special exhibit in the convention's exhibit hall.

Memberships to ConJosé will be on sale at convention registration in the San José McEnery Convention Center from 3 PM Wednesday and from 9 AM each day Thursday
through Monday of the convention.

Current plans call for the doors to the Civic Auditorium to open no later than 7 PM, with Stewart scheduled to speak at 7:30 PM.

Due to the last-minute nature of this appearance, the schedule of this function is subject to considerable last-minute changes. ConJosé recommends that people consult the convention web site at http://www.conjose.org/ and the at-convention newsletters for late updates and schedule adjustments.
