FOUR VISIT WCKY . . . RESULT -

- PLUG FOR CONVENTION

"Forcing their way through the double armed guard surrounding the studio entrance " (Quote CLIFF BAKER, M.C. ) Frank Dietz, Henry Chabot, Bill Kroll and Ron Stone became the "Distinguished guests" of the WCKY Nighthawk Club, a radio show of recorded music airing from three to four-thirty A.M. on that station.

As the boys put it, "After forcing ourselves upon the hospitality of Cliff, there ensued a discussion of science-fiction which confused him a bit. However, we were finally able to put light on the subject. Cliff seemed quite interested and cheerfully gave the Cinvention a good plug shortly after his program began at 3 a.m. "

Previously he had shown the fans around the studios and control rooms. The latter of which, in their opinion, would be a paradise for George O. Smith.

Because of station regulations, regretfully explained Cliff, no details on the Cinvention could be broadcast as this would constitute commercial publicity.

Nevertheless, the primary objectives of fandom and World Conventions were emphasized and summarized, and despite the afore-mentioned restrictions, those non-fans who are at all interested should not encounter too much trouble in locating the Cinvention.

TV SHOW

Further evidence bearing out the fact that the Cinvention will be the finest World Science-Fiction Convention ever held is the television coverage slated to be given by WLWT, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Originally scheduled for a quarter of an hour on either the first or third night of convention, it was recently extended to a half hour, 6:30 to 7 p.m. the second day of the Cinvention.

Due to the limited capacity of the station where the program is to be held, attendance will be limited to those taking active part in the program, or on official coverage. These will include authors, artists, and outstanding fans, as well as purchasers of the more outstanding of the originals to be exhibited on the program.

So, even if you aren't chosen to be on the program -- be sure to stand by your TV set as science-fiction is brought closer to the American public than ever before in history!

Remember: WLWT, 6:30 p.m. Sunday!
