The last two of the series are now being readied and an early delivery is promised. They will be PRIMAL POWERS and TWILIGHT POWERS completing the POWERS. (POWERS OF LIGHT and POWERS OF DARKNESS were the first two).
The new ones will be available at $5 a print or $10 per set to the first 50 - after that the price will be raised.
As the other set - these will be numbered and autographed. 100 sets all told.
EDITORS NOTE: A set of the first two (set #14) is available from the Minn-Dak Fantasy Society. The Society purchased two sets originally to help boost this worthwhile project. Address FNC and make your offer if you want the set.
Merritt's FACE IN THE ABYSS now out from Avon in the Murder Nystery Monthly Series. Avon still insist that they intend to publish ALL of Merritt's works some time in the future ... piece by piece. His short stories will probably appear in Avon Short Story Monthly. (LS)
New release from McMillian is the book by George Gamow - Mr. Tompkins Explores the Atom. It is an explanation of Atomic structure, etc. written and profusely illustrated. The story is a fantasy - a trip by a human thru the atom conducted by Maxwell's demon. Mr. Tompkins becomes an electron in the book.
It is a very fitting sequel to Mr. Tompkins in Wonderland which dealt with curvature of Space, expanding universe, quantum physics, relativity and other things.
Both are small quartos bound in cloth and are priced at $2.
Recommended reading for those with a leaning toward spice and those who read for amusement only is the (almost) 800 page giant volume containing more than 100 stories and 2 plays, BACHELOR'S QUARTERS.
It contains many fantasies. Lord Dunsany is one of more than 70 contributors. It is available from Herald Publishing Co. 45 East 17th St. N.Y.C. 3 for $2.98.
I would like to thank Dunk, Lorraine, Everett Evans and the members of the Minn-Dak Fantasy Society for the many happy hours I have had.
I am now fit for active service again. I have applied for a certain type of duty which will enable me to get even with the rats that sent me back from Anzio.
I'll try to keep in touch with fandom thru Dunk.
This issue of FNC is my farewell ....... adios ... Earl Kay.
