the fourth day

My dearest friend and brother,

The sun rose today. Isn't that remarkable? Today. Today the sun rose and it shone over this humble ball of water and earth that is called the world. Today. Right on schedule, the sun rose. Tell Mother that her little boy can do something right. The sun would not have ever risen, but for me. Right? Right! There I was lying in my room and I thought, 'I think the sun ought to rise today.' Sure enough, it did.

I don't know if I wrote you about my plans. No one could truly be trusted with them. Everyone would really have tried to stop me. Yes, they would; if they knew, they would have. But think about it. The sun. Not just any fiery ball of gases, but the sun rose today. Capital letters. THE SUN. None other. The sun. And they said it couldn't be done.

I think I'll make the moon come up tonight. Won't that be something? The moon. You know, the sun to rule over the day and the moon to rule over the night.

Tell mother that I have been keeping warm and clean. I wear my scarf whenever I go out.

Yours truly,

Geo. O. Davies

P.S. Tomorrow I am going to see Jo Hova about animals for the world. What do you think? G.O.D.
