INTRODUCTION

I figure that what Australian fandom needs is a good 10
newszine and this is what you have in your grubby little
hands now. The aim of The Australian Science Fiction
Bullsheet is to get science fiction news to people on a
fast and frequent basis. My current plans are to publish
fortnightly. I do not see The Bullsheet as a rival to
Thyme, more as a supplement. Thyme has the space to go
into detail. This zine will be a bare bones newsheet, with
aims of achieving the heights of Leigh Edmonds Fanew
Sletter or Dave Langfords Ansible. A text version of The
Bullsheet will be posted to aust.sf for those who prefer
their information in an electronic format and who are too
cheap to pay the cost of stamps.

This issue will concentrate on Melbourne news but I'd love
to hear from other states and include material from there.
Don't be shy. drop me a line, either by mail or e-mail.

The PROFESSIONAL NEWS area will be unashamedly Australian
SF Professional News. There are other zines that will keep
you in touch with overseas news among the best being Thyme
which also includes Australian SF News and Ian Gunn's
Artychoke. Well worth subscribing to.

LONEY TO EDIT FANTHOLOGY
Ex-Western Australian & Victorian fan Mark Loney has been
invited to edit the 1990 Fanthology for Corflu 94. Hes
interested in people nominating material to be included.
Nominations of fanzine articles or art to be included are
required by February 21st. to: Mark Loney, `The Space
Wastrel', 4005 Buchanan Street, Hyattsville, MD.,
20781-2117, USA. Copies of the nominated material would be
appreciated.
(The Fanthologies are distributed each year at Corflu, the
annual North American fannish convention. They contain
what is considered to be the best fan writing and fan art
for the year specified.)

WHAT'S ON THE REMAINDER TABLE
Damien Brodericks Striped Holes, The Judas Mandala and
The Black Grail have been seen on the remaindered tables
around Melbourne, as has Katherine Cummings Katherines
Diary, which includes photographs of Katherine, in her
Aussiecon Masquerade costume in 1975 and with Terry
Dowling and Van Ikin.

BUSHFIRE INFO
Assorted reports from Nick Stathopoulos to Justin Ackroyd
and Ali Kayn, and from e-mail sent by Jean Weber suggest
that none of the fans in the Sydney area were directly
affected by the bushfires. Lewis Morley & Marilyn Pride
were evacuated at one point and the fires did get
uncomfortably close to Faulconbridge.
