Skintomb #7 features fiction by Duane Watson, Kirstyn
McDermott and Raymond Lacken, plus a couple of overseas pieces
and lots of reviews. Substance D is a mainstream style
fanzine. Issue #2 includes sf by an assortment of people and
pseudonyms. Damien Broderick notes that The Weekend Australian
(11/5/96) featured a piece on Ursula le Guin's The Left Hand
of Darkness which refers to Genli Ai as "Al".

Peter Nichols and Jack Dann appeared on the ABC's literary
program Between the Lines on May 8th, causing much
consternation among those who enjoy such things by noting that
Australia was short on great science fiction writers. Damien
Broderick notes "For those who missed the program, Peter
Nicholls explained that Australia has never produced a *great*
sf writer, and only one *very good* sf writer (Greg Egan). He
and Jack did approve, however, of Sean McMullen and Terry
Dowling, and several new writers in their 20s and 30s who are
about to have first novels released."

Bryan Dart notes that he has been working on a television
show and that he has obtained an agreement to get $15,000 to
produce a 'sample' of the show. He is looking for assistance
with the show (Actors etc) If you have skills in that area,
contact him. (bh): 9877-9755 (ah): 9762-3827	Fax 9877-9722
