AUSSIECON THREE

Tim Richards has taken over the Aussiecon Three Website,
which should be available RSN at
http://www.aussiecon3.worldcon.org but I keep getting an
error message when I try it. Having given up on any hope of
getting the Americans to send more copies of Progress Report
1, a reprint job has been done in Australia, and so anyone
who has joined Aussiecon Three but who has not received a
copy should get that Real Soon Now. Bev Hope has designed a
new flier, but it has not been seen yet. In the meantime, in
aus.sf, there has been some dissatisfaction expressed at
Aussiecon Three's low profile. Old-timer Leigh Edmonds has
delurked to support the committee.

CONVENTION NEWS
Niall Doran reports on Thylacon 2 " George RR Martin (subject
to flight confirmation) is now a Guest of Honour alongside
Leanne Frahm, while Neil Gaiman will be an Honoured Guest.
The web page is under constant revision, and now includes
full prices, the banquet menu, and merchant information.
There is a registration form for the con, including hotel
bookings and prices. The 1998 DITMAR nomination form (web
version) will be updated very soon, while hard copies are
winging their ways to various SF bookshops & cons as I type.
The nomination deadline had been set as March 20, but has
been extended to April 4 to allow votes to be received from
attendees at conventions near that time (where they will
hopefully encounter nomination forms). Given the delay in
getting the forms out, this gives everyone a bit more time
all round."

Grant Watson notes "Ladies and gentlemen, Swancon Twenty3
